Important numbers and tips to stay safe

The average tourist in Tunisia will have little problems with safety. As always, be vigilant, and be cautious of pick pocketing or purse snatching. Women face no specific dress requirements, however dressing conservatively will decrease unwanted attention.

It is not advised to travel close to the Algerian border, and if you intend to travel into the southern desert areas, be sure to do your research and consider hiring a guide.
